So. Remember a few weeks ago when I said my plan was to update Cornbread every Sunday at least, and every Sunday and Wednesday at most?
How'd that work out?
I'll be honest. Part of me lost interest, another part was too busy, and the rest of me just wasn't motivated to write. Don't get me wrong, I really do want to keep up with this - I still feel guilty for the way I drove Neighborhood Skeptic out to the middle of nowhere and left it to die (I really can't believe that people do this with dogs. Hopefully some of them are rescued by Sarah Mclachlan. ). But truthfully, it's just been more of a chore than I anticipated. The gestation period of a post - from conception to publishing - is too long and too time-consuming to shoehorn in with everything else in my life. And with my recent discovery of Twitter, the incentive to produce weekly "feature-length" blogs just isn't there.
So maybe a format change is in order. Instead of Cornbread's content consisting solely of weekly, formatted, painstakingly-written formal pieces, maybe I'll stoke the creative fire by relaxing a bit and writing shorter, more sporadic posts - much like I'm doing with this one. Maybe this will result in a more organic, fun, and not to mention less time-consuming experience for me... and hopefully for you.
We'll see how this turns out. If things don't go as planned, I'll be sure to update you when I move on to my next random project that I'll be bored with after a few weeks.
loving the neptunes mixes. don't give up on the blog. Sometimes the spirit to write will move you
